What!? We have a blog!? We are beyond excited that you have joined us on our maiden voyage of sharing our lives in paradise! We have had this dream to live, eat, and sleep fashion. So here we are sharing kids clothes, accessories, and fun- island style!
This is a place to talk about fashion and fun, but it all starts with our families. Mary and her husband, Vince, are parents to their beautiful daughters Monroe (3) and Talulah (1). They own Joey's Pizza and Pasta House and Doreen's Cup of Joe which are island staples and often have lines out the door. Mary is a beyond talented professional make-up artist, event planner and full time mom. (See an upcoming blog post about her unbelievable "Palm Beach" themed first birthday party for sweet Talaluh) Mary is a fashionista herself and hopefully will allow herself to be photograph for some great fashion inspo ;) We are lucky to be friends with such a wonderful and generous family
My husband Paul and I are from Janesville, WI but have avoided mid-west winters and gained year round summer for 3 years now. I am a teacher at a middle school right off the island and my husband works for Joey's and Doreen's restaurants. We are parents to Lane (10 months) who has been such an easy baby who loves to swim, laugh, and dance. He's not so much of a fan of photo shoots and outfit changes... but he will learn. Ha! I have always enjoyed all things beauty, fashion and entertainment (Read: Bravo). So partnering with my good friend Mary to create a place for clothing and creativity seemed like a dream come true.
Living on Marco Island, FL where its hot, humid, beautiful, and busy, this is the absolute perfect place to raise these little starfish. If you have ever tried to take (or fake) a family photo, a lone picture of your toddler, you know the blood, lots and lots of sweat, tears and laughter that take place to get a good picture. However, we have immensely enjoyed documenting this life we are beyond privileged to live with Our Island Kids.
